Overview:
Kondo is the specialist if it comes to Humanoid and legged Robots. Thank's to it's japanese precision, the Kondo Robot System has been a favorite for humanoid research within Universities and is known for being the Nr. 1 Humanoid Competition Platforms due to the Robots most Human like movements. The strong and quick high voltage servos with an up to 270 degree angle, the easy to operate graphical user interface and their strong body makes it one of the most popular robots among roboticists and researchers.
Like the Bioloid System, the new Kondo robot platforms use a serial protocol allowing the connection of several servos in a daisy-chained fashion. By connecting in a Daisy chain the number of cables is reduced and therefore prevents troubles regarding disconnection and also improves cable routing.
Controller:
The Kondo Robot System is using the RCB-3 and RCB-4 Controller boards.
The RCB-3 Control Board has 24 PWM input/output and 3 analog input ports. It incorporates two serial communication approaches - a high speed serial port capable of 115,200 bps communication with a PC, and a lower speed serial port for use with R/C type controls. The motherboard has a concentrated control system, which means you can elaborate the control of individual settings (thanks to the ICS servo control setting tool). Thus, there is no need to unplug the servo motors.
The newer micro controller board RCB-4 enables the control of up to 35 serial servos. It is compatible with ICS3.0 (serial) servo protocol and a wide range of options parts. The board also includes several extension ports (10x A/D and 10x PIO) which enable the use of a wide range of sensors and extension options.

Programming:
The Kondo Software is called Heart to Heart and now includes new motions and a new type of programming. The new software also includes "project management" features for improved collaboration and performance in team competitions. By moving the robots joints with your hand, motions can be captured and stored into the memory thanks to it's new intelligent servos.

Body:
Kondo offers four standard legged platforms: KHR-2HV, KHR-3HV, Turtle Robot and KMR-M6.
As with other platform, additional parts and electronics can be purchased to customize your robot.

Mobility:
High Voltage, large operating angle and strong torque; these are the features that characterize a typical Kondo Servo. Communicating through serial PWM signals with a communication speed of up to 1.25Mbps and the ability to connect most of those servo motors in a Daisy chain fashion makes manipulating them easy.

Modules:
Give your robot better balance, make it see or hear, choose different control methods or make it autonomous with the modules made for the Kondo Robot System.
